Antique Costume

Dear readers,
Forgive my absence. (Please see previous post for more details.) I've been staying busy with several personal projects but I do have a Czech-costume related project that you might be able to help with. A dear reader (I will withhold her name because I did not get permission to identify her.) has sent me a very generous gift. She has entrusted a family heirloom to me, a beautiful Czech costume. I am currently researching what region this costume represents. It appears that it may be from Bohemia but if you know anything about it, please email me at czechcostumes@gmail.com. I would like to have the costume cleaned and restored. The colors are so vibrant. It is just splendid!

Please check back often and be patient. In the mean time, I would love to hear from you about your Czech costumes!

Dobre den! I've spent most of the afternoon pouring over photos on your blog. Let me first say what a wonderful job you've done on your daughter's kroj! I have an authentic kroj that I inherited from my mother, who received it from her father who brought it to her from his hometown in Malenovice, Czech Republic. The one you made is almost identical to mine!
I found your blog while searching through photos on pinterest. I was quite surprised to see a photo of an authentic kroj, so I popped over to take a look at your blog.
Just wanted to say "hi" and tell you how much I've enjoyed browsing through all your photos!
I will bookmark your blog and be back for a visit, as well as recommending that my cousins and aunts "drop by" to visit your site! I have lots of photos of various members of my family in Mama's kroj, as well as several other costumes she made, and the costumes of various members of my family. If I ever get them all scanned, I will post them and send you a link to them.
I also have some of the paperwork that came with my mother's kroj which I can try to scan and post also, it may be of some help to you in the future.
Wishing you and your beautiful daughter many happy years wearing her kroj, and I hope that it is cherished and passed down for future generations.
Na shledanou, Nola

Nola,
You are so sweet. Thanks for the most kind comments. When you do get the photos of your mama's kroj and documentation scanned I would love to see it! I'm so glad you enjoy the blog. All the best, Sharon
